Francesca is an experienced teacher, with years of work under her belt in the US. She has also privately tutored in the UK with positive results. A talented artist, Franceska would be an excellent tutor with a great understanding of the core skills that underpin drawing and painting, conveying this knowledge in an understandable and enjoyable way.

Franceska is the best art teacher I've ever had! She comes at everything with such a unique and fun perspective. I feel more creative just by being near her. It's true! She taught me new techniques that I had never tried before and now my drawing has improved greatly. She's also always on time and prepared. I wish I had met her sooner.

I have known Franceska McCullough since we attended Kansas City Art Institute together in 1995. I've also taken several of her classes, and occasionally acted as her assistant.
Franceska has a gift for teaching her students how to really see the world around them, and she gives them the tools to recreate it in their art. She has an excellent understanding of negative and positive space and the importance of observing both. She is a master of lighting and shadows, and will teach her students how the light reveals the shape and structure of what they are drawing or painting. She has grown up in an artistic family, and art history and it's influence is second nature to her. She has studied figure drawing and perspective drawing most of her life, and she has taught many students how to understand and translate complicated subject matter. She's a talented artist, but she's also an excellent teacher and a strong communicator when it comes to the arts. A student would be incredibly fortunate to learn from her.

It makes me extremely happy to recommend Franceska McCullough for this position. Ms. McCullough was my high school art teacher and she also inspired me to pursue art as a career. She is not only extremely talented, but she is also patient, kind, open, and helpful. She fostered the kind of learning environment that welcomed both beginners and experienced artists. She is the best kind of teacher, she has real world experience and she is open to new ideas. She has come a long way since she moved back to the UK from Texas (where she taught me.) I think she would make a great tutor for those interested in pursuing a career in art and for those who are simply interested in learning a new skill.

Both in and out of the classroom, Ms. McCullough's teaching style grounds and nourishes each individual student's particular skill set and maintains their interest in the subject matter at hand. She is able to vector her approach in such a manner so that the subject matter is accessible for a diverse range of students. Past all that, taking her classes was--simply put--fun. She is a major asset to any art teaching staff with any student base.

I taught for three years with Franceska at The Canterbury Episcopal School. She was a caring and inspiring teacher who cared immensly for her students. She was accommodating, patient and very creative. I cannot recommend her enough as a teacher.

I found Franceska through a similar website not so long ago, on September to be exact.
I wanted to study illustration at university, however I was studying Business at college and I was self taught at drawing. When I met Franceska, I explained to her my situation and at what level I had to get by January- March. The lessons started and she was more than willing answer any questions that I had and patiently repeat anything that I didn't understand. She made the lesson pleasant and she would make the lessons different to avoid monotony and to keep me motivated. She is more than experienced and can easily find any weaknesses and strengths, which greatly helped me to improve vastly in a short amount of time. She is very positive, and can easily transfer her knowledge as well as make everything easier to comprehend. However, she is demanding when needed, but not strict to mistakes.
Overall, great teacher with enormous experience.We covered a variety of things, we did life drawings, she would give me homework and critiques, we did lessons on clay and watercolours, water coloured pencils, acrylic, etc.
