About Ally
I am currently training to be a licensed art therapist, have a degree in illustration, and a background in mental health services. I am from California but currently live in London, where I study. I have experience working in primary schools with children, specializing in supporting students with autism, ADHD, and other learning disabilities. As well as leading art workshops for children, I have also lead art workshops for adults with disabilities. I believe art is a powerful communication device and therapeutic tool, for people of all ages and abilities. I recently completed an 8 hour training on Art Based Telehealth, focused on using art as a tool for wellbeing with clients based virtually over Zoom.

I base my classes on using art as a therapeutic tool to promote well being. My methodology is a unique blend of teaching technical art skills with a focus on reflective processes. The creative process can help individuals, especially children, express themselves through a non-verbal medium that reflects their emotional state. Through exercises in drawing, painting, and collage, students will develop tools to maintain mental wellbeing and develop a diverse portfolio of artwork. All abilities and skills are welcome, while we work to learn more ways to artistically express ourselves, final images will not be assessed but used as a tool for personal reflection. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, classes will be held virtually on Zoom.
