About Leigh
I have a degree in drawing and painting and am currently studying for a UK teaching qualification to further enhance my teaching abilities.
For the past two years I have been teaching English in China and teaching English is something I am keen to continue in a part time capacity whilst I teach art.

In my opinion, students learn best when they are engaged in a class. To achieve engagement I use a combination of learner centered / content focused methodologies backed up with interactive learning exercises designed to provide revision and encourage confidence.
What this means in reality is that my art classes focus heavily on participation and exploration of themes. They are highly practical lessons which aim to give experience with new techniques and artists, but also a chance to explore so that students can find their own artistic style. Each art student is on their own journey and the teachers job is to guide them.
We should look at the past to guide us to the future, so classes will be centered around a certain artist, style or art movement and the students will be encouraged to critically consider the work as they expore their own responses.

Details
Cancellations must be given at least 2 hours before the lesson is due to start. I use public transport, so travel costs are based on distance. They will always be discussed to both parties satisfaction in advance of lessons.
