My teaching method is to make my lessons as personal as possible. By finding out what the student is interested in or struggling with, I can introduce them to a variety of techniques and skills that I have gained over the last seven years of being a practising artist. Through my connections, I will be able to suggest other artists and organisations that I think the student will benefit from, which will help to guide them with their research and development. Though I do primarily work with sculpture and installations, I do have experience in painting, drawing and some experience in photography and clay / model making. Whether it is help with establishing new connections, help with dissertations and essays, research and development, portfolio and project work or advice and support, each lesson will be personal, informative, and fun. Lessons will either be based in Leeds, at my artist studio in Wakefield, or can be given over skype or email, depending on the students preference. I am available to teach all ages, with any form of experience, from beginners to university students.
I am an artist specialising in painting, sculpture and audience interactive installations. Based in Leeds, England, I graduated from the Masters Art and Design course at Leeds Beckett University in 2019. I have exhibited artwork as part of solo, group and community exhibitions in the UK, Catalonia, Greece and America. From 2015 to 2019 I have been interviewed and involved in a variety of articles and magazines including; Be in the NYC know, Helen Asks the Artists, With five questions, Average Arts Magazine and A5 Magazine, to name just a few. I was shortlisted for the CROOME Research and Development Award in 2018. Though I am relatively new to teaching art and design, I have only recently graduated from my own Masters course, and thus have full experience on what it feels like to be both the student and the teacher - through group discussions with fellow peers. I have also experienced teaching classes in two primary schools as part of the Horsforth Walk of ART in 2018, and holding my first workshop at the River and Canal Trust in Apperley Bridge in 2019.
