Hello, I am an artist and tutor and teach art to all ages. I firmly believe that learning should be fun and so whatever level I teach at I ensure that my students feel at ease. That way they will make better work! I like to give students room to explore whilst teaching formal skills in drawing and painting. I teach drawing and painting in their widest forms.
My teaching method is very experiential. I leave space for your own intuitions and support them by teaching you techniques. I let you play first because by playing first your inner artist is not inhibited by the rules... Rules come later to support your inner artist and make you more objective in judging by yourself what you have created.
Studying Art was one of the most enjoyable things I have ever done, teaching it is the most satisfying. I am an Art tutor for children of all ages, whether they need portfolio help or you just want them to get creative.
My teaching method is structured on each student’s need. In the first meeting I want to learn more about my student, to see their portfolio or drawings, to get a clear picture about what is needed to be taught. Then, depending on the student, I will have special teaching method. I’ve worked with 5 year old children up to 40year olds, so I know how to make a plan for everyone.
My teaching method is fun and inclusive. I like the students to work with me step by step. I am keen to answer questions along the way and I welcome new and insightful ideas, proposals and techniques. It is important that the student develops their own flair when practising art, and that they find their own sense of individuality.
Having achieved an A* in Art and Design GCSE in 2016, then a 6 in the IB Visual Arts Higher Level in 2018, I have a strong knowledge of how to succeed in art academically, as well as a creative streak which helps me to express myself through different media.
I base my classes primarily around the student. There is not a strict regiment and i wont force you to draw anything you don't wish to. My classes range from learning how to develop and structure your sketchbooks for GCSE and A-Levels, through to hobbiest artists and other aspiring comic artists that need guidance in drawing, publishing and advertising.
Wether you are planning on going to university or collage or just looking to improve I can help. My goal is to work in the art sector of a university so I have already acquired all the knowledge necessary to help you build a portfolio and improve your skills.
I base my classes specifically on the student's desirable focus and level. The classes will be more practical than theoretical because I believe this is the best way for students to adopt skills. I am extremely patient, so do not worry about making mistakes. I'd love to help you improve; that's what I am for.
I'm Chris and I give art lessons to students of all abilities. I'll help you by listening to what you want to achieve and explaining key concepts clearly. Don't worry if you're just starting out or lack confidence - I'm here to help you make real breakthroughs.

I am a practicing artist and passionate about encouraging students to learn artistic skills and explore their creativity. I offer tailored individual and group art lessons, portfolio guidance for students working for GCSEs, A-levels and also for art schools/universities applications.
I give guidance to students and I help them with the technical art and design process. I give them guidance through the project briefs by brainstorming and researching. I am a great researcher and I cam help students with personal statements and University projects.
My approach to teaching is student led. I teach students what they need to know and what they are interested in. I can teach Art from 3 years old to adults. I can teach to any British examination board. I have skills in most Art mediums my favourites being, painting, drawing, textiles and sculpture.
I believe that the right teaching approach does not only come in one specific form. Because we are all different, we also learn in diverse ways and at different paces. My goal is to find out what the most effective learning technique is for my student, and then establishing a plan from there.
My approach is open, polite, clear, fun, attentive and assertive. The levels of teaching have varied from one on one tuition for GCSE portfolios to big time 'creative' corporations in Hollywood. I encourage all students to use the side of the brain that is less used. I include philosophical approaches to my teaching.
My teaching is entirely student-led. Once I have been briefed on what the student wishes to achieve in the lesson, then we can plan it together - whether that's simply to gain pleasure from creating art, preparing for an art exam or preparing for entrance to art school/university. I am able to take into account personal preferences, learning styles and abilities.
My teaching method is to get to know the individual first, see what they need help with, and then go from there. I am experienced in various subjects involving the visual arts and would be more than happy to help develop other students abilities.
My teaching method is teaching with a certain structure to people who have strong interests in painting and Design. My lesson structure will depend on what the people sign up my class want to learn. My characteristics as a tutor is to try to explain things in a easy way.
I believe in that everyone has strength and what to learn easier what I aim to find by several methods. I describe and show the task more times if needed, as long as my students confident to solve it and then develop their skills step by step to maximise their results and experience.
The Graphic Design knowledge is important for Artists and for Designers then Know the tools such as Illustrator and Photoshop are very important. We are going to have some sessions more talking about specific art techniques or just graphic design techniques.
My aim is to be flexible in my approach, and encourage my students in their studies to build the confidence they need, and find the materials that best suit their interests. The classes I give are really to allow them to become that artist they want to become and enjoy the experience along the way.
After assessing the student's level and listening to their needs (field of specialization/industry goals), I would give them weekly assignment practices in regard to the technical skills needing improvement. These assignments, can vary from small sketches to a large piece.
