About Shaharyar
I am a qualified attorney with eight years of experience. I am passionate about pursuing the study of law and helping others to understand it. In fact, I personally believe that everyone should have an elementary understanding of the idea of law in society. I also have strong interests in history and the development of social orders, and how that is reflected in the way a legal system operates. It is why I enjoy the aspects of legal research in the common law which overlap with historical research. I hope to encourage the same interest in students. I also have a resurgent interest in literature. Particularly because I adhere to Dworkin's ideas about the study and interpretation of law being much like that of literature. I would be happy to explore that with an interested student. I also have an avid interest in natural sciences. When you don't find me with a law book it will probably be with a pair of binoculars spotting birds. Alternatively, I may be whittling a bear or building a small glider.

I like to focus on breaking down subjects and key concepts for students. I prefer to start with an introductory discussion to understand what students already know about a particular subject. Studying law requires a specialized mental framework. Students are often told they need to learn to "think like a lawyer". While this advice is vague my approach relies on helping students develop the practical skills they need to understand key legal concepts and apply them in their studies as well as in their future careers. Whether I encounter a law student or a person wanting to understand and study legal concepts, my aim is to help them develop their worldview in a way that instills intellectual curiosity in the law and makes "Learning the Law" more approachable.

Shaharyar has been a coach; mentor; and most importantly a tutor throughout my time in law school. He specifically helped me with legal writing during my LRW course and Con law. I also needed help with the UBE bar exam- Shaharyar helped me build a schedule and add accountability to my bar studies. Highly recommend him!!
Other than admiring his being an unexceptionable scholar of Law, we stand in awe of Mr. Shahryar's unmatched eloquence cultured by omnivorous reading habits that span well over a decade. Become an object of envy in your academic circle by availing yourself of the unparalleled teaching experience offered by Mr. Sheikh. Especially, if you are a student of International Law; him you will find not merely a repository of Legal knowledge, but one featuring that rare combination of academic excellence and aesthetic refinement.
By far one of the most knowledgeable people on the planet.
Shaharyar has been mentoring students for quite some time now. I know him as a lawyer, he is compassionate and knows his work.
