I am a labor employment lawyer who litigated for the Federal Government who has my own practice.
• American University, Washington College of Law, L.L.M-Labor and Employment Law
• Howard University, Washington, DC; JD; B.A. Political Science (Pre-Law major GPA 4.0).
• Achieved a 100% winning rate representing the Agency in administrative hearings over 2 years.
• Achieved a 100% winning rate in leading Agency arbitration team.
• Engaged in the negotiation of the terms of the union contracts.
• Engaged in mediation with unions representing employees and sought solutions at the lowest level. I reduced the number of grievances filed to the second step of the grievance process by 85%.
• Advised Managers on performance management through coaching, counseling and disciplinary matters.
• Advised on State laws, policies and drafted opinion letters to senior managers specifically regarding employment and labor matters.
• Worked on a State-wide Department of Transportation initiative to draft a new Substance Abuse policy. I successfully tested 100% of the Agency safety sensitive employees over the 12-month testing cycle.
• Conducted employee misconduct investigations. I achieved a 100% investigatory closure rate over 2 years.
