About Tashi
I am a graduate film student and am currently studying history / politics / philosophy with the University of London. I have dual citizenship - Australian / British - and have lived within the chaos of Rome for five years: a difficult but intriguing city. I am extremely curious and my interests extend into many areas of fascination, including people and culture, new technological developments, philosophy, and our natural world.

Predominately I have worked as English teacher whilst living in Rome. Thus, I am and was fortunate enough to experience and practice many different methodologies. I gained a certificate accredit for TEFL, am a taught Callan Method Teacher, and have also developed my own lessons teaching privately- considering the need and interests of my students. I am passionate about the English language and some of the misconceptions that surround it. I aim to teach my language effectively and thoroughly in context, so you learn how to congruently use English and understand the way of thinking, as to not just translate it, but to instead, fluently and confidently speak it. For example: To increase vocabulary we take the etymology of words discuss them and read them within their different / practiced contexts. Seeing the word, discussing the phonetic combinations of letters; learning how to identify combination letters and their different sounds. For example: Create a script, whereby you learn to listen and repeat without time to react, unconsciously learning grammatical structures, and then going back to analyze them - learning as we did when children. Real-time conversation simulation. For example: Reading and comprehension exercises in areas that you are interested in or are relevant to your personal / or professional life.

I've had a great time with my teacher Tashi. She's a professional teacher and helped me a lot to by improving my vocabulary with daily conversations and a strong comprehension of the grammar structure.
Major points go to the elastic time-frame when you can schedule the lessons.Dear Sir/Madam,
I am pleased to recommend Tashi as a qualified English teacher.
She taught my children Marco (9 year old) and Luca (5 year old) when we used to live in Rome.
She was very gentile and very calm during her lessons. She had good communication skills with parents and students and every week she tracked the progression of learning.
She organized interactive lessons to support learning grammar points.
They loved her and they were happy to learn English with her in a funny way.
I am pleased to recommend Tashi Higgins as a person who is qualified to teach English. I have had the pleasure of working with her for the past three years. She is a very well organized teacher who develops inspiring relationships with her students. She possesses a good attitude and calm nature. She is a person who is open to culture exchange which makes her an ideal language teacher. Tashi has a wonderful rapport with people of all ages, especially children. She has an ability to connect with her students and a special talent at teaching simple concepts, as well as more advanced topics. I can guarantee that she manages to have visible results even with on line courses. She also has excellent written and verbal communication skills with parents and students. Tashi accomplishes all these tasks with great initiative and with a positive attitude.
