Graduating with a BM Contemporary Music in Guitar from AIM provided the bedrock for my 13 years in the Australian Latin music scene. This formal education coupled with my deep-rooted identity as a native Spanish speaker informs how I share music. Kids and absolute beginners often find that my approach prioritizes the groove above everything else. Intermediate learners also discover that my gigging background bridges the gap between theory and actual stage performance.
It is genuinely fun to watch someone connect with their instrument for the first time. I find great satisfaction in seeing the spark when a student finally captures that specific Latin rhythm. Helping others find their own voice is a rewarding part of my week.
