About Melody
Originally an award-winning playwright from New York, I’ve written on TV shows like Law & Order: SVU and I’m a Sundance Episodic Lab and HBO writing fellow who has sold a TV show to Netflix and has written a feature adaptation for them. My work has been published by Flame Tree Publishing and Humanoids (the comic book OMNI). I won a Disney grant in 2025, was in Rideback Rise fellowship and the Ryan Murphy Directing program. I’ve won the Athena List Award and the Grand Jury Prize for best screenplay at Urbanworld Film Festival. I am currently developing a film to shoot in the fall of 2026.
I’ve mentored writers in Stowe Story Labs, for Sundance and Justice for My Sister.
