About Emma
Lady E is an internationally acclaimed, award‑winning DJ tutor, coach and soundwave practitioner based in Brighton, UK. With over 25 years of industry expertise, she delivers high‑level professional tuition across house, garage, jungle, drum & bass, break‑beat and techno, blending technical mastery with creative artistry to develop confident, skilled DJs at every stage of their journey.

One‑to‑one DJ training sessions provide structured, personalised guidance designed to build your technical skills from the ground up. You’ll work directly with professional equipment and industry‑standard DJ software, learning how to manage your music library through importing, exporting and organising tracks for efficient performance workflows.
We’ll break down track analysis in a practical way—covering BPM detection, musical key, waveform reading, cue‑point placement and understanding track energy levels. This foundation helps you make informed decisions when selecting and preparing music for your sets.
You’ll also develop a solid understanding of beat‑matching and musical timing. Through hands‑on practice, you’ll learn how to count beats accurately, recognise bars and identify phrases within a track. These skills allow you to align two songs smoothly, maintain consistent timing and create transitions that sound clean and professional.
By the end of your sessions, you’ll understand not just what to do, but why each technique matters—giving you the confidence to mix creatively, troubleshoot issues and build your own style as a DJ.
