About Eden
I am a recent college graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music Performance, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a 3.9 cumulative GPA. In my undergraduate studies I focused mostly on Operatic and Musical theater vocal techniques. Because I studied at a HBCU, I learned how to apply these techniques to modern day genres like R&B and Gospel in order to have a healthier technique in general. While studying, I also became proficient in music theory and sight reading/sight singing. I have a strong passion for music and helping others to grow into their full potential as musicians!

My teaching approach is centered around creating a supportive, engaging, and individualized learning environment. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and exploring their own musicality. I tailor my lessons to each student's age, experience level, goals, and learning style.
Vocal Coaching: For vocal students, I focus on developing healthy vocal technique, breath support, posture, pitch accuracy, tone, diction, and confidence. Lessons will include vocal warm-ups, breathing exercises, scales, ear-training activities, and work on songs that are appropriate for the student's level and interests. I prioritize healthy vocal habits while helping students develop their own unique sound and musical expression.
Sight Reading: I teach sight reading by breaking music down into manageable skills rather than expecting students to read everything at once. This includes identifying notes and rhythms, recognizing key signatures and time signatures, learning intervals, counting and subdividing rhythms, and gradually increasing difficulty. I also incorporate solfège, rhythmic exercises, and ear training to help students connect what they see on the page with what they hear.
Music Theory: For K–12 students, I focus on making foundational music theory practical and easy to understand. Topics may include reading the staff, note values, scales, key signatures, intervals, chords, rhythm, dynamics, musical terminology, and basic harmonic concepts. Whenever possible, I connect theory to the music students are already learning or listening to so that concepts feel relevant rather than purely memorization-based.
Above all, my goal is for students to leave each lesson feeling that they have learned something new, gained confidence, and have a clear understanding of what they can continue practicing independently.
