About Rachel
I was born in Brazil and always had a passion for nature, animals, plants, and people. I realised very early I wanted to be a Science teacher by watching my own Science and Biology teachers and seeing how passionate they were about teaching the subject. I have been working with children since I was 14 years old, starting as a volunteer in a nursery, moving on to volunteer camp counsellor, and even working in children's bookshops in Brazil. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 2016, and immediately went back to university for a Teaching degree, graduating in 2020. From 2016 to 2019 I worked in several schools in São Paulo as a teaching assistant and occasionally taught my own classes as part of my training. I moved to Hertfordshire in 2021 and my hope is to work as a Secondary School Science teacher in the UK when I finish my Master's degree.

I have experience teaching general Science to children from ages 10 to 14, and Biology to teenagers ages 14 and up. I have a Bachelor's in Biology from a university in São Paulo, Brazil, and I moved to the UK in September 2021 to pursue a Master's in Education, in order to become a Science and Biology teacher. My private lessons are 1h long, and I am able to cover all topics that children study in school - such as zoology, botany, genetics, cellular biology, etc.
