About Karren

The sound of a piano key striking the hammer is where my curiosity first took root. I hold a Bachelor of Music from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

After teaching 72 students, I have learned that the most complex pieces are simply collections of small, logical movements. I break these down until they are almost insultingly small. My approach relies on METHODICAL PRECISION regarding dynamics and expression.

We cover posture, hand position, and sight transposition until they become second nature. Memorisation techniques are essential for pop and contemporary styles. I simply watch the progress unfold.

About the lesson

You will find that your piano practice feels like a conversation during our time together. We prioritise clarity over rote memorisation. You receive a short recorded playback of each session so you can review at home.

This allows for immediate correction of your hand position and dynamics. Do you want to reach a point where you can teach these concepts to others?
