About Pratik Zephaniah
I'm Pratik, a music educator with a Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in Music Education, and over nine years of private teaching experience.
I started teaching guitar at the age of 18, while still pursuing my undergraduate degree, and I have been doing it ever since.
In 2019, I appeared for the Trinity College London Classical Guitar Grade 7 examination and was awarded a Distinction, the highest score in the city of Bangalore that year.
In 2020 I appeared for the Grade 8 examination and once again was awarded Distinction.
Teaching is what I chose to build my career around.
I studied it formally, I practice it daily, and after nine years and many students, I can say with confidence that helping someone go from their very first note to playing music they genuinely love is the most rewarding work I know.

I help anyone aged 8 and above, beginners and beyond, develop real fluency on the guitar through structured, personalized online lessons.
Every student is different, so every lesson is tailored.
But there is always a clear structure.
My approach is rooted in three core values:
First, I teach music as a language.
The goal is for you to read, think, and interpret music with real confidence, not just replicate what you hear.
Second, I treat music as culture.
Every piece carries a history, and understanding that context makes you a deeper, more expressive player.
Third, I focus on long-term musical growth.
I want to make you independent, not reliant on me forever.
For Classical Guitar students, lessons cover notation, sight reading, technique, posture, theory, and structured preparation for Trinity College London and ABRSM grade examinations.
For Contemporary Guitar students, acoustic, electric, or bass, we work on chords, rhythm, strumming, fingerpicking, songs, and improvisation fundamentals.
Whether you are a child picking up the guitar for the first time or an adult who always wished they had learned, I will meet you where you are and help you build something that lasts.
