I love teaching Reading!
I build rapport and confidence as I teach students where they are. I utilize a positive, affirmation approach to eliminate intimidation. I use prior knowledge as a spring board to make connections with texts. The text is richer in meaning when I utilize picture clues, subtitles, charts & graphs.
Your child and I will seek to understand the author's purpose and point of view. When we target Phonics, it will open the door for improvement in Spelling and Writing. Better readers are better writers! Comprehension is targeted as we highlight topic sentences, main ideas, and the sequence of events.
Finally, we will draw conclusions and summarize the text orally and in writing. The full gamut of Language Arts is addressed when you choose Joyce Hardeman as your tutor for your special person!
