About Marco
I possess a bachelors in French Language and literature and was last assessed at the C1 proficiency level (able to perform complex tasks related to work and study). While I never use the “F” word (fluent), I believe true proficiency in a second language is a life long journey filled with up and downs. I know what it takes to continue on your journey even when you feel you’ve hit a wall….

Hello,
My name is Marco- I am an American Francophile with over 20 years of French instruction both inside and outside of France. As a native English speaker, I know what it takes to move up the proficiency scale. Learning a new language requires dedication, patience, and tenacity. I provide a comfortable, non-judgmental environment to work on your skills while making tangible improvements in your reading, writing, listening and speaking.
A little background on myself… I first fell in love with French at the tender age of 8 when I was introduced to Muzzy in elementary school. It was what the French call a “coup de foudre»- love at first site! From that moment on, my obsession with French only grew. In college, I joined a language immersion dormitory where students signed a pledge to speak their target language with their roommates 24/7. Shortly after, I moved to France for 6 months where I lived with a French family and deepened my proficiency.
Today, I continue to hone my skills by making frequent trips to France to visit friends and family. Listen to French podcasts, news, and television. And even sing in French to keep my brain fresh!
