About Mar
I’m Mar Gimenez, a music producer, engineer, songwriter, and educator from Spain. I was fortunate to receive the prestigious Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation and Julio Iglesias Presidential Scholarship, which fully covered my studies at Berklee College of Music, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with dual degrees in Music Production and Engineering and Contemporary Writing and Production.
As a performer, I had the honor of opening the Person of the Year Gala at the Latin Grammys. As a producer and engineer, I’ve recorded in renowned studios worldwide, including Abbey Road and Real World, and have worked with iconic artists like Celine Dion.
I’ve been passionate about teaching for years, working in various schools and offering freelance private lessons to kids and adults in Madrid before moving to the USA. I specialize in the Willems Method of piano instruction and believe in making music education an exciting and engaging experience for all students.
When I’m not producing or teaching, I love to sing and write my own music, always exploring new ways to blend creativity and technique in every project.

I believe in making music learning fun, engaging, and future-proof by combining traditional piano techniques with the latest in music production.
Teaching Method & Techniques
My lessons are fully customized for each student, whether they are kids just starting out or adults looking to expand their musical knowledge. I focus on blending classical piano fundamentals (technique, sight-reading, and theory) with modern music production, using tools like Logic Pro to make learning both practical and creative.
Typical Lesson Plan
• First Half: We focus on mastering the essentials of piano—posture, scales, reading sheet music, and building a strong foundation in theory.
• Second Half: We dive into music production, where students learn to create their own beats and songs using professional software. This hands-on approach makes music relevant for today’s world and keeps the learning process engaging.

Mar was my singing teacher during 2019, 2020 and 2021. She is very organized, gentle, nice, sensible and, of course, a great musician. In addition to training my voice, she also wanted me to experiment with my creativity by recording some songs, helping me to create my own song... I really recomend her as a teacher. She´s great at her job and as a person.
Mar was my teacher for a year and a half, and honestly I think I wouldn't have learnt as much as I did if it wasn't for her. She takes her job very serious, prepares all of her classes in advance, adapts to each student's necessity, and then, makes the class so much fun and joyful you can't believe it. Conlusion: I 100% recommend her, you won't regret it!
Mar was online piano teacher of my three kids. She was very dedicated, organized and motivating. Her very good online skills, kindness and patience were very appreciated. Including new and different exercises she helped a lot to advance my kids. It was not easy to find a replacement for her.
Mar is the best option for you to practice music. She is the perfect teacher because she explains things in a very interesting way and has a special sensitivity that makes you feel comfortable while playing or producing. Simply the best!
