About António
My name is Antonio Areia and I am a guitarist and music producer with over 10 years of experience in production and teaching of both classical and electric guitar, as well as music production. I was classically trained in guitar while growing up in Portugal, and received my undergrad diploma in music production and sound engineering from PointBlank Music School in London. This past summer, I graduated from a master's program at Berklee's NYC campus. I have produced and played music across a range of genres, but my favorite kind of music is Bossa Nova and electronic music.

As a teacher, I emphasize fundamentals while creating a laid back and chill environment! The reason I love music is because, ultimately, it's fun, and I bring this to my lessons. My years producing and playing music in bands and music schools around the world shapes my teaching style. Through these experiences, I've been exposed to many different and awesome learning techniques, and I incorporate them into my lessons. However, I always tailor my teaching style to meet each student's goals.
Music production and guitar both cross multiple genres and styles, and I love to explore this breadth with my students, too. Whether we are making a simple beat, learning scales, or going over recording techniques, I help my students learn what specifically excited them, or help them develop their own voice as music producers.
