About Gertrude
I'm a 22 year old English tutor who has spent the vast majority of my life in France, growing up bilingual in both English and French. Having experienced firsthand the challenges of learning a new language, I understand how frustrating and intimidating it can be—not wanting to speak out of fear of making mistakes. My goal is to help my students overcome that fear, build confidence, and truly enjoy the learning process. I recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business and Marketing and have now moved to Australia. Teaching and helping others grow is something I'm passionate about. I'm sociable, patient, and great with kids, and I strive to make my lessons engaging, interactive, and tailored to each student's needs. Whether working on pronunciation, grammar, or real-life communication skills, I focus on practical application to help students navigate French interactions with ease. Each lesson typically lasts 45 minutes to an hour, and I adjust the pace based on the student's level and objectives. As a bilingual British citizen and long-term resident of France, I offer first-hand cultural and linguistic insight. My goal is to help students gain confidence, improve fluency, and achieve their personal or professional language goals in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Lessons are available for all levels (beginner to advanced) and all ages—whether you're a student, professional, or simply looking to enhance your French skills.
