About Yakirah

¡Hola! I’m a passionate and experienced Spanish tutor with real-world fluency. I completed an intensive Spanish language program at the University of Michigan, passed the proficiency exam, and have since used Spanish professionally in every job I’ve had—including research, legal work, and customer service. I understand the challenges of learning a new language and strive to make my lessons engaging, practical, and tailored to each student’s needs. Whether you're learning for school, travel, or professional growth, I’m here to help you gain confidence and fluency. Let’s achieve your Spanish goals together!

About the lesson

I customize each lesson to fit your needs, whether you're a beginner or in your last year of college Spanish or maybe just trying to refine your skills. My teaching approach focuses on interactive learning, real-life conversations, and clear grammar explanations. A typical lesson includes vocabulary building, pronunciation practice, and engaging exercises to reinforce understanding, but overall they will be tailored to your needs and what you're looking to get out of a tutoring session.

What sets me apart is my ability to adapt lessons to different learning styles, ensuring you feel confident using Spanish in everyday situations. My lessons are great for students of all levels—whether you're studying for school, preparing for travel, or simply looking to improve fluency.

I want every student to feel confident in their ability to learn and become proficient in Spanish! I didn't start learning until I was 18 - and in a few years I was proficient and I now am bilingual. Anything is possible when you put your mind to it and have a supportive space to learn and practice.
