I would determine your learning style and adjust the teaching method accordingly. I believe in active recall, so foundational concepts will be solidified before moving on to practice problems. I explain the objectives and why it is relevant to know in general or how it applies to everyday life. I will then dive into foundational concepts and main concepts. Have a discussion of what you've learned so far. Have you try and explain it back to me or essentially teach it. That really helps with solidifying your knowledge. We move on to practice problems completed together. Then an assignment to complete on your own outside of tutoring hours. This subjects were difficult for me too when I was first introduced but through this same steps above I was able to breakdown this difficult classes. I've been there I know what its like to not understand and feel frustrated wishing someone could help me break it down and understand these concepts. These lessons are for any biology, pre-med, pre-dental, pre-professional studies, biochemistry, chemistry, neuroscience majors.
