About Eleanor
I'm Eleanor, a undergraduate biologist with a passion for supporting students to grow their understanding of their subjects and how to learn more effectively.
I have a background as a Children's Services Volunteer, supporting children of all ages between 6-18. I know that the way things are taught in school doesn't work for everyone, and it's so important to me that these students still are given the support to succeed, and hopefully even enjoy what they learn.
I achieved all 9's in my GCSEs (including separate sciences), and am now studying biology at a Times Higher Education top 5 ranked University. Although it has been several years since I left secondary school, it is not a distant memory for me so I am well equipped with the tools to support your child with their GCSEs and help them grow their understanding.

I take a personalised approach to tutoring, with a specific focus on exam technique so that my student can demonstrate their knowledge in a way that scores marks.
My lessons are an hour long and customised to my student's specific needs. Typically, this involves going through last lesson's consolidation work, teaching the new lessons content and then assisted approach of practice questions to troubleshoot any immediate issues. Every session also includes a small set of practice questions to be completed independantly in order to consolidate learning. These are marked and returned with feedback in the following session.
Each session involves the hour lesson, plus an additional hour of preparation and marking that I do outside of it.
