About Maxine
Graduating from the University of Oxford gave me an analytical framework for teaching Biology that spans 13 years of classroom practice. My focus remains on EVOLUTION AND NATURAL SELECTION alongside complex DNA AND RNA STRUCTURE. Concepts like ECOLOGY AND ECOSYSTEMS or ENZYMES AND METABOLISM become clear through intuition.
THE NERVOUS SYSTEM requires specific attention. DATA ANALYSIS AND GRAPHS are essential tools.
GENETICS AND INHERITANCE are often misunderstood by students. PROTEIN SYNTHESIS follows a rigid logic. I find that simplifying these mechanisms helps most students see their grades move within a term. I am quite thoughtful about how I explain these topics.
