About Kate
Hi, I'm Kate! I'm now coming to the end of my master's degree in Astrobiology, having completed my degree in Biology in 2023 with a 2:1. I am passionate about the sciences and in addition to my experience in biology, I also have a background in chemistry and geography to A Level standard. I have experience tutoring GCSE students in the sciences, especially working with students who have neurodivergencies such as ADHD. I care deeply about introducing students to how interesting the world can be from a scientific perspective, especially those who have been struggling with the sciences in a school setting. In my free time I like to keep plants, go on walks in the park and log plants and animals I see on iNaturalist and cook.

I have 1 year of tutoring experience working with a GCSE student who has ADHD in biology, physics, and chemistry. I use a combination of worksheets, short homework tasks, and small in-class quizzes. I value open discussion to explore topics and believe that delivering a positive experience to students is crucial for encouraging enthusiasm in learning. My lessons can vary in length based on your needs, but are generally an hour long. I am able to work with students up to degree level in biology, and chemistry and geography students up to A-level standard.
