About Josh

Hi, I’m Josh. I have a master’s in genetics and a bachelor’s in medical science, and I’m passionate about making science feel clear and approachable.

My degrees gave me strong subject knowledge, and also taught me how to break complex material into manageable steps. I’m new to tutoring, but I’ve recently been through the exams and applications my students are working towards, so I understand the pressure and the pitfalls. I know how much of a difference a patient, encouraging teacher can make, and I want every student to leave a lesson feeling more confident than when they arrived.

Biology & Chemistry Tutor | GCSE & A Level | Exam-Focused Lessons

Struggling to make biology and chemistry stick? My lessons focus on understanding the why behind each topic, so you’re not just memorising facts.

We’ll use diagrams, everyday analogies and plenty of exam-style questions, and I’ll explain tricky ideas in different ways until they click. I’ll also teach you how to read command words and use mark schemes, because many marks are lost through wording rather than knowledge.

Each 60-minute lesson follows a clear structure: a quick recap, new content or targeted practice, then a short quiz or past-paper question to check progress. Sessions are tailored to your exam board (AQA, OCR or Edexcel) and the topics you find hardest.

Suitable for GCSE (Years 10-11) and A Level (Years 12-13) students, whether you want to catch up, stay on track or aim for top grades.

Message me to book a first lesson and tell me what you’d like to work on!
