About Owen
I am a biology specialist with a BSc in Zoology and an MSc in Palaeobiology, where I conducted research in anatomy, evolution and biomechanics. I am also an experienced secondary Biology teacher, supporting students from GCSE to A-level. I tutor because I love helping students build confidence, understand difficult concepts clearly and achieve grades they are capable of. I also want to share my passion for learning and the subject with the students and inspire them in their future endeavours.

My lessons are personalised to each student's needs, using clear explanations, exam-focused practice and supportive guidance to build confidence in biology. I draw on my experience as both a secondary biology teacher and a primary teacher, which helps me break down complex ideas into simple, accessible steps for learners of all abilities. A typical session includes a review of key concepts, targeted practice questions and strategies to improve understanding and exam techniques. I utilise models, diagrams and real examples from my university research to make topics engaging and memorable. My goal is to create a calm, structured learning environment where every student can make progress.
