In my experience, different students respond best to different teaching styles, so I like to cater my lessons towards the specific style of learning that works best for each individual student. This can involve using visual aids and analogies to help explain concepts in a clear and concise manner, as well as elements of competition to encourage younger students who are less enthusiastic about learning. I want my lessons to be fun, and I aim to achieve that as much as possible in the ways that I teach.
I am a first year Biomedical Science student at York university, and I have recently completed my A Levels achieving an A* in Biology, A in Chemistry and B in Geography. I have taught both Maths and English to students aged 6 to 16 at a local tutoring centre for the past two years. This has given me experience tutoring a huge range of students with varying needs, including helping very capable, higher level GCSE students push their grade up from an 8 to a 9, and supporting less confident students to gain the self-belief needed to excel in their subjects. I teach Biology and Chemistry up to A Level, and Maths at GCSE or below.
