I believe everyone learns differently and I personally struggled to find my own revision method. I base my teaching on kinetic, visual and audible aids as much as possible to ensure every type of learner can benefit. I personally found answering past paper questions the most beneficial method of revision through GCSE and ALevel because they assess a lot of exam technique.
I offer bespoke teaching and cater my teaching style around the student’s needs, with experience tutoring a variety of ages, I understand that each learner is unique and learns best via different methods.
My teaching method is completely dependent on the individual. I understand that all children learn differently and differentiate my teaching accordingly to ensure full understanding of the subject and topic. I find it important that the basis of every subject is grasped before moving on to more difficult topics.
My tutoring style is to help you identify weaknesses in your own maths knowledge and work together to come up with a plan to remedy this. I want to help you not only pass your current exams but develop your own strategies so that you can be an even better student going into the future.
I really care about helping the student improve and succeed. I believe in patience, friendliness and kindness during tuition, but very much value perseverance of both tutor and student. I like to put great effort and thought into what I'm doing with them.
Find out the level my student is at and understand where there strengths and weaknesses lie. This may be done through looking at a question or asking the student what they already know about the topic we're covering in that session. Then slowly work through the topic or question ensuring the student understands why each step is taken not just what each step is.
Hello! I'm Yashgin. Over the past academic year, I have been working for Yipiyap, the UK’s leading provider of in-school tuition, as a Maths Teacher at two Leeds Secondary Schools. This role, which I adopted in my gap year, comprised of two separate functions, one as a Math Tutor specialising in intervention work for struggling students and one as a Maths Teacher leading my own classes.
I base my classes on what the student feels they need the most help with. I explain problems they cannot solve and then use this as a springboard to work through similar exercises, helping to make the student as confident as possible in that topic.
I aim to provide support to students by teaching them how to tackle and approach problems by themselves rather than just giving them the answers. This encourages them to explore different techniques during their exams and helps them to become more self reliant and less dependent on support from others.
My teaching method is to understand what works best for the student to learn the skills needed to succeed. The fundamental aim of the lessons is to not just teach the students the content, but to engage them in lateral thinking where the knowledge then becomes second nature and can be used in future careers.
University student - Gives lessons in Maths and Science up to GCSE standard and Business studies up to A level standard Interactive Study methods as well as structured textbook exercises - Open to new techniques which will help you achieve the grades you desire I am naturally a structured and organised teacher but aim to make my sessions as useful as possible (using real life situations as...
Hello, I am a second year Maths student doing a degree at the University of York. As well as this; I have a scholarship in which I am learning to be an outstanding teacher alongside Harrogate Grammar School. I would place my expertise in Mathematics to GCSE (and possibly Decision 1 for Further Maths A-level) and analysis of texts which assists with English Literature in general.
My teaching methodology varies on a per student basis but generally I like to start with reviewing course material to clear up any confusion and then work through custom examples and problems adapted to the level and needs of my audience.
I believe that the best way to teach is to be able to explain complex concepts at first in as simple a way possible. This means that I can teach individuals of any ability and any age. As a tutor, I am very fun and I like to make the maths I tutor very interesting as I feel that this has been the key to my maths achievements.
It is widely acknowledged that every child learns in a different way, it is therefore not surprising that some children will struggle to reach their full potential in a classroom environment. My tutoring approach begins with developing a relationship with both the child and parent in order to identify what the child struggles with in school and how I can create a learning plan to suit the child.
My teaching methodology is to explain subjects in a variety of ways until the pupil finds a way which is easiest for them. I will provide questions for the students to complete after the session to further their understanding. I will also focus on the parts of the course which the student is finding most difficult. Finally, I wish to boost the students confidence in this subject.
I like to use initial meetings as a chance for not only you to meet me, but also for me to get a really clear picture about a student's ability and how I would be able to help them achieve great results in the future.
I like to have a free discussion with any person I'm teaching about what exactly is catching them up. Its completely different with every person so the most important thing is to understand the student's perspective.
My teaching method involves gauging the area of the topic the student struggles with and focusing on that while working through a lot of example questions step by step, allowing the student to take the lead and explain their thought process while working through the question.
Generally my lessons plan work towards and alongside the school curriculum that the child is doing. It completely depends on what the Childs weakness and strength are. I change mathematical methods depending on what the child prefers and am happy to show different ways of doing things that they perhaps won't have been taught at school.
I am a student at the University of York tutoring Maths for GCSE and A-Level students. I use a methodical approach of demonstrating typical exam technique so that my students know what sort of questions will definitely come up in the exam and therefore achieve the best they can.
I am an energetic and engaging teacher from Canada and give lessons to students in KS3, specifically for maths and science. I deliver content with engaging and hands on activities that targets many different learning styles and I integrate real life applications, so that students are able see the relevance and application for their knowledge right away.
My teaching method is to focus on key areas individually which the student struggles with, starting with lower grade concepts and working towards high level topics. I believe it is crucial that basic knowledge and understanding of a subject is established as a building block.
Given the frequency school curriculum change I would spend a session getting to know what was challenging, what they were finding easy and therefore what would be the most valuable use of time going forward, spend a few sessions on a topic to ensure it is being retained and if useful go over what is currently being taught/helping with homework to keep them current in the year.
My name is Joshua Olusanya and I am a Mathematics and Philosophy Undergraduate at the University of York, however, I am originally from London. I tutor mathematics at all levels up to degree level. My methods of teaching vary from student to student, as everyone is different and learns differently. As a teacher, I am attentive, nurturing and humorous from time to time.
My teaching method is to encourage the student to work through a process to come to the answer themselves rather that telling them what to do. I can tutor up to GSCE maths and up to A level business studies.
I would prefer to give lessons to those in secondary schools or college as I feel this is where my strength lies.
I am a mathematics graduate from the University of York, UK. I have a passion for teaching, discussing a mathematical problem involves understanding the underlying concept, followed by easy-to-follow example, which demonstrate the concept to the student! I believe in simple, effective communication.
Previously privately tutored students Maths, French, physics and Product design. I’m young and therefore understand the possible struggles you’re going through and have, and can help you easily. My previous student were GCSE level. I try and work with you instead of setting you a task and making you work for me.
I teach up to GCSE level and specialise in helping students maximise their potential by focusing on the individual learner i.e. not adopting a fixed style of teaching. I firmly believe that one size does not fit all, and that teaching methods should be adapted to suit the individual.
