About Lucy
Aside from tutoring, I enjoy baking and cooking and looking after my two kittens! I'll be sure to share some baking recipes and cute kittens in my lesson too!! I currently work full time as a store manager trying to find my way in the world - hopefully going into biology in the future.
I’m passionate about teaching because I know firsthand how powerful it can be when someone helps you understand something that once seemed difficult. During my time studying Biomedical Sciences, and even back in my A-levels in Biology, Psychology, and Graphics, I found that I thrived when I could explain things to others. It wasn’t just about solidifying my own knowledge but seeing the moment when something clicked for someone else.
That feeling is why I want to teach. I understand the challenges students face, and I want to help them overcome those barriers. My approach is built on patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to see my students succeed. I love breaking down complex topics into simpler ideas and finding creative ways to make learning enjoyable.
I’ve always been proactive in my studies, seeking out extra learning opportunities, and I bring that same energy to my tutoring. For me, teaching is about more than just helping students get better grades. It’s about building confidence, inspiring curiosity, and showing students that with the right support, they’re capable of more than they might think.
I want to give back by helping students feel empowered in their learning, just as others have helped me along my academic journey.

As a tutor, my approach is centered around making lessons engaging and personalized to each student’s needs and learning style. I believe in active learning, meaning I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and engage with the material rather than just memorizing facts - I think it’s a more efficient and fun way to learn and feel confident in learning material. I also focus on helping you develop strong study skills like time management and exam strategies, preparing you for the end game!
Each lesson typically lasts around 60 minutes, though I can adjust the length based on your needs. I tailor my teaching methods to suit different learning styles whether you're a visual learner, prefer hands-on practice, or learn best through discussion.
I hold a BSc in Biomedical Sciences and have a strong academic background in Biology and Psychology, along with previous tutoring experience. My lessons are designed for GCSE and A-Level students, but please feel free to reach out to me even if you’re outside of this range and I’d be happy to help.
