About Kyong
The sound of a dusty piano bench creaking remains my earliest memory of music. Having spent my formative years at the Curtis Institute of Music, I now approach the keyboard with a focus on depth over coverage. I have successfully guided 60+ students through the RCM curriculum from Prep A to ARCT with distinction.
My methodology relies on specific memorization techniques and refined chord voicing to ensure clarity. I provide instruction in pop and contemporary styles alongside rigorous training in scales and arpeggios. Clients appreciate that I hold space for thinking time, as silence serves as a bridge to musical growth.

Since the first note is often the hardest, let us sit together to find the right phrasing. My approach integrates sight playing into the core of our work to build fluency.
Weekly practice modules are assigned with every class to create a structured path forward. Because I hold a BMus from the Curtis Institute of Music, I lean on a foundation of discipline that remains calm and measured.
The 6.0 benchmark serves as our compass for quality during these sessions. You will find that establishing a clear technical foundation makes the eventual interpretation of the music feel remarkably effortless and enjoyable.
