About Rusty
Sometimes it takes a while to stop thinking about your fingers and start making real music. I have spent 5 years refining how I explain acoustic technique and complex strumming patterns.
Having taught 372 students, I know exactly which roadblocks cause frustration for new players. My BMus Piano Performance degree from Eastman School of Music allows me to approach guitar with a deep understanding of musical theory and structure.
I guide you through reading tabs, sheet music, and essential power chords. We also explore songwriting, proper tuning, and maintenance to keep your instrument in top shape. Mastering chord transitions becomes second nature through my method. I am ready to get you playing confidently.

Struggling to make those chord transitions sound clean is a common hurdle I help students clear. It is really about finding the right angle and finger pressure for your specific hands. I draw on 5 years of full time teaching to simplify these movements for you. My background at Eastman School of Music keeps my approach anchored in sound musical principles that actually work.
