About Dani Zulu
I am a general percussionist, body musician, artist-educator, performer, teacher and player of the rhythms, songs and dances of traditional Brazilian culture.
I have twenty-six years of experience in concerts and workshops in the areas of GENERAL PERCUSSION and BODY MUSIC with different groups and musical styles, in concert formats and free and pedagogical workshops throughout Brazil and the world.
I work in:
- As an ARTIST in shows and recordings of dance, singing, general percussion, Brazilian percussion and body music.
- As a RHYTHMIC/BODY COACH for theater, dance, circus, choir and artistic groups.
- As an EDUCATOR teaching percussion and body music to children, young people and adults.
- As a TRAINER in educational projects for teachers and artist educators.

My goal is to show that to make music, it is not necessary to have a musical instrument, but if you want a partner for musical encounters,, the tambourine is a great companion, small and complete, a portable drum kit.
I've been an artist and teacher of instrumental percussion and body music for 26 years. Along with Barbatuques (a Brazilian body music group), I collaborated on the creation and development of the pedagogy that will be applied in the classes. Furthermore, my research is based on the relationship between the body and the instrument, a proposal that will be developed in tambourine lessons.
Music/Body Percussion: The exploration of the countless sounds produced by the body is the starting point for this research. Clapping, snapping, chest beating, tapping, mouth movements, vocal movements, and many other sounds are combined to produce rhythms and melodies, fostering playful exploration of sounds.
Tambourine: Get to know the instrument and its timbres, learn how to hold and handle it, develop the possibilities of playing the tambourine like a drum.
