About Ciril
I am Ciril J Thundiyil, a British council and IDP certified IELTS trainer having more than 4 years of experience . Training sessions are offered for all modules of both IELTS Academic and General training on a one-on-one basis(individual classes).
I did my graduation in Vocational English from St. Berchmans College Changanacherry with copy editing and magazine journalism as core subjects. Later, I did my Master of Social Work (MSW) – Medical and Psychiatry after which I started working as a counsellor making me realise the effectiveness of on-on-one mentoring. It was in 2011 that I had my first exposure to the training field when I did a one-year Diploma course in Guidance and Counselling at NCERT(RIE, Mysore).
I have been taking offline IELTS classes in various language training institutes since November 2017 and started taking classes online in July 2020. Certification from the British Council and IDP Australia were obtained when I attended the British Council's Master Class for IELTS trainers from the IDP's IELTS Teacher Training Program.
It was found that the writing module was tenuous for most of the students and multiple attempts were necessitated because of low bands obtained in the writing module. Therefore, from the very beginning of my career as an IELTS trainer, I have been focusing more on the writing module - both IELTS Academic and General Training. . At the same time, it was made sure that the other modules namely speaking, listening, and reading were not compromised.
