Heyya,
Personally I was never a student that got all A's and instantly understood things - generally I was confused and ended up getting tutors myself! However, I feel because of this I understand where people are coming from and appreciate everyone understands things in different ways. So generally when I meet people I first get to know them to understand what methods of learning suits them best.
I've been tutoring for about 9 years. All ages of people from 12-65! Generally, school level to first/second year Bsc. Very happy to report all my students have achieved a higher grade than they were expecting when the started and i think this if because I like to relate things that seem weird and confusing to real life to make them easier to understand.
