About William
Hi, I'm Will, a medical student with a passion for science, and for helping younger students build real confidence in it rather than just getting through the syllabus. I achieved A* in Biology, Math and Physics at A2, and A* in Chemistry at AS, so I know exactly what it takes to do well at this level and the foundations that actually matter early on.
Over the past 9 months, I've been tutoring students in this age range, and it's been great seeing them grow more confident with the subject and score higher on their tests as a result. I take tutoring seriously — lessons are structured, I turn up on time and prepared, and everything is tailored to where your child is actually at rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. My aim is simple: to help your child understand science well enough that it stops feeling intimidating, and to make sure you can see real progress, whether that's through better grades, more confidence, or just a genuine interest in the subject sticking around.

Lessons are for children in years 7-10 and run for 60 minutes and are all about making science click for your child, not just another lesson where they're switching off in front of a textbook. I keep things interactive and creative, using analogies and real-life examples to help concepts actually stick, rather than just working through content passively. I also focus on proper study techniques — practical ways to memorise key facts, how to structure revision so it holds up long-term rather than being crammed the night before a test, and how to approach different question types with confidence. The aim is to build habits that make science feel manageable for your child, and hopefully even enjoyable, rather than something to dread.

I highly recommend William as a UCAT tutor. He helped me a lot by providing a variety of helpful resources, strategies, and structured study plans, while also thoroughly explaining difficult topics and questions. I really appreciated how he was always so encouraging and patient, which really helped motivate and build my confidence throughout my preparation. I’m very grateful for his guidance and would definitely recommend him as a tutor to anyone preparing for the UCAT! :)
I know Will through university and have seen both his own preparation for the UCAT last year and his tutoring of students this year. Through his personal experience with UCAT, he structures his lessons to best meet the needs of his students. He adapts his explanations flexibly to different students and is skilled at helping them improve their scores in a short amount of time.
Will tutored me for 6 months in the leadup to the UCAT. I started with scores of around 1500 but ended up scoring over 2200+! He was able to weave UCAT preparation into my busy first year uni schedule so that it was manageable and made me work consistently. His hands on, practical style of teaching where he runs through practice questions live with me helped me identify areas of weakness, improve timings and refine techniques especially for Decision Making.
He is very patient and wrote me a practice plan for every week and was available to answer questions over text whenever I needed. If you want a thorough and tailored UCAT tutor then he is a perfect fit.View more recommendations
