My teaching is tailored to the individual student's needs, and will always be centred around their personal goals. If my tutoring is supplementary to a school curriculum, I prefer receiving the student's classroom material in advance so that I can prepare a lesson that both covers and (when appropriate) expands on what the student is learning in class.
I will begin any language tutoring by assessing the student's level on the first day.
I'm a bilingual Canadian-German with a varied background in the humanities and social sciences: After completing a BA in History in Berlin, I moved to the UK to study Legal and Political Theory at UCL and International Relations and Politics at Cambridge, both to a graduate level (MA, MPhil). I've since worked as an academic translator and theatre director, and recently completed my MA in Theatre Directing at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. I am passionate about politics, history, literature and languages and have freelanced as an editor for various museums, academic journals and publishing houses for six years.
