About Madeleine
I am a Geographer first and foremost. My professional career began in Human Resources, where I specialised in Learning and Development and particularly in one-to-one situations working as a tutor, mentor and coach. In parallel I undertook a Master's degree in Learning and Development to ensure I had an academic foundation to my work. So I have come to tutoring through my professional experience, rather than through a teaching route.

Our sessions will be focused on your needs and be conversational, helping you to develop your own thinking and ideas on the topics, rather than a one-way 'telling' approach. In this way, you will begin to 'think like a geographer' - the key ingredient needed for exam success. With essay practice in parallel, you will also learn to write like a geographer, using geographical terms with increasing fluidity and succinctness. My own motivation and enthusiasm stems from a love of my subject, which I hope to pass on to you. I have been building up my tutoring over the past 5 years and now specialise in A level, with experience of the Edexcel, OCR, AQA and Cambridge International syllabuses (and happy to learn others). I would consider tutoring GCSE level on a case-by-case basis.
