About Nick
I have ten years' experience teaching primary and secondary schools in England. While trained in teaching history from Cambridge University, I can also teach literacy, French, politics, Italian and ancient Greek. I love helping students find a way to thrive at subjects where they struggle, and learning new things myself along the way. I believe the best way to do this is by getting to know students well. From there, we work thoroughly through their preferred subject or topic choice. My aim is to accomplish as much as possible in the hour's worth of tutoring - and then stimulate the practice that will help students make speedy and satisfying progress.

I try to get to know my students as well as possible, and tailor learning to their needs and tastes. This has meant thinking up songs to teach ancient Greek to a friend, using a pre-teen boy's love of the Simpsons to enthuse him about literacy, and getting a class of children dancing to teach them about the wandering albatross. I like learning to be fun, purposeful, and stimulating, and love learning new things myself.
