About Eloise
Hello! Having just graduated from Clare College, Cambridge with a 2:1 in economics, I am keen to help others improve in Economics, Maths and Academic Writing, as well as providing advice on university admissions, particularly to Oxbridge. I have over a year's experience in online tutoring and mentoring, helping students aged 15-18 by designing and delivering custom-built courses. At school I was highly academic, achieving A*A*AA in A-level Economics, Maths, Further Maths and Physics. I also love sport, being a keen runner and rower in my free time.
My lessons are tailored to the needs of the student. As such, in the first lesson I will focus on ascertaining the student's needs and ability, before planning our future sessions together. In a typical lesson, I will refresh the student's mind on our previous topic, before introducing the topic for that session and covering the key concepts. I make sure to ask my students probing questions to check their understanding, being mindful that students can sometimes be shy or nervous, especially when they are new to tutoring. I have experience talking to extremely shy students online, who struggle to even put the camera on, but I make sure to be friendly and approachable.
I have previously tutored students for Economics A-level, Economics GCSE, Maths GCSE and ECAA admissions tests, in addition to mentoring students applying to study Economics at Cambridge. I look forwards to helping more students in their learning!
