About Shirav
I am an engaging and supportive tutor, and I have built strong working relationships with my previous students. I have taught GCSE, A-Level, and IB students, with each improving by at least two grade boundaries from their initial predicted grades.
I recently graduated from the University of Cambridge with a First and high 2.1 in History Parts I and II, receiving two academic prizes for my results. My own academic progress was built on hard work, organisation, and clear technique, and these are the same skills I help my students develop.

I begin with an initial consultation to understand each student’s needs, confidence level, goals, and current challenges. From there, I tailor my lessons to suit the individual student, whether they need help mastering content, improving essay technique, or learning how to meet the demands of the mark scheme.
My sessions are usually one hour long, though I am happy to offer longer sessions where useful. For essay-based subjects, I focus on building confidence, structure, and clarity: we work through essay plans, model paragraphs, content review, argument-building, and exam technique. My aim is to complement school teaching with practical, targeted support that helps students improve both their understanding and their results.
