My prime aim is to provide non-judgmental tuition that is designed specifically for you, and from a place of safety, respect, and compassion.
During the initial free consultation we will establish your learning needs, sources and triggers of mental health, and set a starting point. I will then compile a training plan with clearly defined SMART goals, session aims, timescale, and a proposed number of sessions.
Each session is one hour long; so you are in control of both pace and price. You are also in complete control of what you want to talk about and discuss.
What we cover together will largely depend on your personal needs, but essentially the areas we could look at and cover could include:
- Your sources and triggers of negativity
- Coping strategies and techniques
- Past history, relationships, and experiences
- Traumas and childhood development
- Sibling rivalry.
We could factor in any of the following strategies and techniques into our tuition, where I can give you help on:
- Visualization
- Breathing
- Mindfulness
- Relaxation
- Meditation (guided and unguided)
- Art therapy
- Journaling.
Additionally, we can also incorporate lifestyle, diet, work/life balance, and other aspects of your life into the program, if you so wish.
Other practices and methods you may find helpful could include:
- Looking at yoga, pilates, and other fitness regimes
- Chakra realignment
- Energy realignment
- Frequency alignment
- Healing crystals and stones
- Gratitude diary
- Positive affirmations and reinforcement
- Mood boards
The techniques and methods I teach can be used by anyone of all ages and from any background. Maybe you are an individual who feels anxious about taking tests and exams, or someone feeling stressed and under pressure at work. Maybe you are a parent feeling like you cannot cope with juggling the many roles expected of you as a parent!
The point is that anyone and everyone suffers with some form of stress, anxiety, and even depression at some point in their lives. The trick is how we deal with that and not let it take control of our emotional states. THAT is what we will try to cover together. You are not alone!
Please note: due to Covid-19, I am unable to offer home-based tuition. All training is currently being delivered remotely/online only, via Zoom.
Professionally, my field of work is in creative marketing and education. My career started in 1994 as an Apprentice studying I.T. and Graphic Design. Towards the end of my course the college recognized my potential and took me on as a junior technician - to begin with! Little did I know they had other plans for me!
After a short while I was (literally!) thrown in the deep end, being introduced to a group of 20 adults as their new tutor! The room was hot, humid, and noisy with an OHP motoring away. I was 18 at the time and loved every minute of the opportunity!
After four years I moved on to pursue a career as a freelance web and graphic designer. From this point my career splintered, where I took on further employment in education teaching and training students, trainees, and apprentices, but I also remained active as a freelancer offering my services as a creative marketing executive.
I have set up two tech companies, led different teams, and have had to juggle many different disciplines, projects, and clients simultaneously! I guess you could say I am somewhat of a master in multitasking as a result!
Whilst working in education I have delivered training covering a comprehensive range of topics, from business admin and customer service, to leadership, management, and digital marketing. I have delivered to small and large groups, 1:1, online, and in-person.
In my personal life I have always had a passion for creativity, especially art and design. I love drawing, painting, sketching, listening to music, reading, my children, and travelling. In 2018 I spent a month on the Greek island, Kefalonia, to help a conservation project look after and protect loggerhead sea turtles - an animal that is extremely close to my heart.
My first experience of anxiety was when I was 18. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was travelling home one evening on the train from London Bridge, the weather was blistering hot and the carriage stifling. This was when my first panic attack hit me like a freight train - I felt like I was going to die.
Of course I didn't die and it soon dispersed, but that was the start of many years suffering with this form of mental health disorder. It lasted well into my mid-30's, where I fell into a cycle of depression and anxiety. I took many different forms of anti-depressants, none of which agreed with me, and numerous attempts at counselling. Until my last counselor who was a trainee at St Thomas's hospital in London who, after just six sessions, had me 'summed up' and drew out the infinity sign on a piece of paper and explained the cycle to me. It was like a dense cloud had been lifted.
And so, my road to recovery began. And if it did for me, it will for you too.
Since then I have developed a daily routine of meditation, both mindfulness and more recently Transcendental Meditation. I have had a yoga tutor for over four years now, who has taught me the philosophy of hatha yoga combined with asana and prananyama into my daily practice. I am exceptionally spiritual and choose to live a mindful lifestyle. I have fully embraced many philosophies about the Universe and other techniques, such as energy realignment, astrological connection, chakra alignment, laws of attraction, and positive affirmation into my life.
I have a wealth of professional experience when it comes to teaching and training, underpinned by an abundant amount of personal experience in dealing with stress, depression, and anxiety.
Although I am not yet fully qualified in mindfulness teaching, I am about to complete an 8-week MBCT course. In September 2020 I will be starting an A-Level in Psychology, with the ambition of going on to complete the mandatory degree in Mindfulness.
Therefore, please note, this course is based around personal experience and learned techniques, combining my twenty year experience as a teacher in to the tuition.
My charges are a flat rate, regardless of your skill level.
I offer high quality, effective tuition that addresses your specific learning needs and goals.
You will be benefiting from my extensive history, experience, and skills that span more than twenty years.
I have a cancellation policy - no refund if cancelled within 24 hours of the due date/time.
Due to the current Covid-19 outbreak, I am only providing tuition remotely, online via WhatsApp, Skype, or Zoom.
I am an experienced, qualified tutor having worked in both education and creative marketing for over twenty years.
In my personal life I am an avid painter, drawer, and artist. I studied art as a student at college and plan to fulfill my ambition of advancing my studies to a post-graduate.
I am also extremely spiritual. I have a strong sense of compassion and a deep belief in the Universe, its power, and our place in it. I have a daily practice of yoga, meditation, and energy alignment.
Professionally, my skillset includes extensive use of I.T., digital, and social platforms, business planning, management and leadership, and coaching individuals across a range of topics.
The other subjects I cover include:
- Business development
- Business planning and strategy
- Leadership and management
- Web design and development
- WordPress
- Social media marketing
- Creative marketing
- Brand development
- PPC campaigns
- Google platforms
- CIW topics/subjects
The techniques for 1:1 tuition can often be very different to group delivery, so when working on an individual basis my practice tends to be more focused and concentrated. The quality of delivery means I get to address the specific areas you are struggling with more acutely and accurately.
It has been stated that the pace and temperament of my sessions are of a calm, relaxed feel; I am able to put learners at ease with a strong, confident, but not overbearing personality. I like my sessions to be engaging, lighthearted, and most of all fun for both you and me; that sounds a bit of a cliche, but if you leave my sessions feeling more empowered and having enjoyed yourself, then that gives me a huge sense of achievement!
Whilst I use visual aides as support, I make sure this does not compromise quality and I always, always avoid invoking 'Death by PowerPoint'!
Oh, and one last thing; audience participation is mandatory! This is a two-way street, my friend; so during our one hour together expect to be asked questions, to participate and offer your own ideas, and to have some enjoyment along the way!
I had been suffering with anxiety and depression for over 25 years. Listening to Adrian's story really resonated with me and it helped make a great connection. He really understood what I was going through and was able to create tuition for what I needed. A great tutor!
