About Herman
I have been teaching in the Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya during my refugee life and worked as a program director for (United Nations Children Fund) UNICEF for two years in Sudan. I have been a high school teacher and administrator in government and non-governmental organizations, UNHCR, Jesuits Refugees Services and Save the Children, Sweden in Uganda and Kenya. I am a theologian, a community and social servant and work for Young Man Christian Association in Canberra, ACT and currently a secondary school teacher occasionally.

I prepare the lessons I am going to teach prior to the class time. When I enter the classroom I greet the students and set them ready for attending the lesson. I ask few questions on previous lessons to understand their knowledge of understanding that may take about 5 minutes and present the new lesson on the board. I ask a few questions to know how many students have knowledge about the new topic. This will give me chance to know about their general and individual ability before I start lecturing about the topic. My lecturing is interactive with the students. I ask questions and hear responses from the students individually occasionally and if I am a tutor, I explain to the students about the contents of the assignment and explain to them how to answer the assignment questions following instruction for answering the questions that the lecturer instructed them to do.
