About Josephina

I earned my Bachelor of Music in Music Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. My teaching style is straightforward and focused on your progress.

I prioritise solid ideas over superficial polish in every student I teach. Many of my learners are career changers looking to pick up a new instrument later in life.

We will work together on barre chords and improvisation and soloing to build your confidence. I also emphasise ear training and strumming patterns to help you feel the music deeply. Mastering reading tabs and rhythm guitar will become a natural part of our weekly flow. I find that learning becomes much easier when we embrace making mistakes during our time together.

About the lesson

400+ students have passed through my studio to date. Pacing is the most important element of our time together because I adjust everything to match your current comfort level. You will find that I stop often to provide feedback on your hand placement or your rhythm. We will utilise my formal training from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to ensure your technique is built correctly from the start.

I offer a free trial session to assess starting level so we know exactly where to begin your journey. We spend time on ear training and reading tabs to make sure you understand the music you are playing.

Whether you are struggling with barre chords or trying to get the hang of improvisation and soloing, I am here to help you navigate those hurdles. I believe that if you keep showing up, the progress will follow naturally without any unnecessary pressure. Just bring your guitar and your willingness to try.
