About Callum
Hi there! I am a fourth year McGill undergraduate student studying cell biology. I am currently performing research on proteins called microtubules. I am passionate about supporting the learning of young students and I have extensive tutoring experience.
I have been teaching students both remotely and in person for the last year. McGill hired me to remotely support undergraduate students in Basic Genetics this past semester. I have also taught grades 7-8 in person at the Giles school in Toronto. I have also worked remotely one-on-one with students for Win-Win education.

I want to help students learn the key patterns and problem solving approaches that will allow them to succeed in chemistry. This will involve working through example problems and helping the student develop a comprehensive approach to solve them. I will also help students understand challenging concepts through the use of metaphors and visual aids.
Prior to the lesson I will ask the students to inform me
what they need help with. At the start of the lesson I will do a quick presentation on the topic being covered. We will then go through some practice problems together. Then I'll ask the student to summarize the concepts we've covered to assess their understanding. We will spend the rest of the lesson going over areas the student still has difficulty with.
I have been tutoring to a variety of age ranges for over a year. I have been an official tutor at McGill University. I have received top marks in a variety of chemistry and cell biology classes at McGill. I am currently doing research on dynamic proteins and have an understanding of how bio-chemistry can be applied.
I am able to help students in middle school and high school with any level of chemistry (grade 7-grade 12).
