About Daryl
I've spent more than two years helping learners speak with more confidence.
Every single lesson with me has a concrete purpose without feeling like a lecture. I pride myself on creating fun and engaging sessions with my students.
Based in Texas, I love talking to my students from all over the world, some who have "graduated" from learning with me to becoming friends.
I'm learning another language myself so I know what it is like to search for a word or feel like I'm not expressing who I truly am through my second language.
To me, mistakes are just useful information. I'm not here to judge you, but help you feel great about learning all that you can.

My lessons are structured with a CELTA approach, meaning I make as much time for the student to try the target language as often as they can. I have well-scaffolded lessons, from grammar, to speaking, reading and listening. It depends on the needs of the student which of these areas we will focus most on, but all areas are covered. If the lesson is more theory-based that day, I would use my resources I have compiled from across various sources to walk the student through exercises and drills. If it's a reading or speaking day, I will choose a topic that is interesting for them to speak, read or write about. I teach adults as well as children, all levels. I have over two years of experience teaching English with reviews to back that up. I'm warm, patient and a language learner myself, which is what makes me relatable to students.
