About Shayna
As someone who's either worked at or been in a school since I was five, I know that sometimes, cut-and-dry school requirements can make it feel like you "aren't smart enough" or "can't succeed". I've definitely been there (in public school, college, and even graduate school), and I know just how disheartening it can be. By personalizing your learning experience and working through tasks with methods and explanations that make sense to you, I am passionate about building not just your academic capabilities, but your confidence in your own ability to succeed. Even if you don't believe in yourself, I believe in you!

Students will receive personalized tutoring sessions catered specifically to their needs. I strongly believe that confidence is a key foundation for learning and content acquisition, and my first task as an educator is to help students build confidence in themselves that they can and will succeed.
As an experienced public school educator, I am familiar with curriculum writing, as well as providing relevant, educational, and encouraging feedback and consulting any provided/created rubrics to fairly assess student work.
As an AP Teacher and Exam Grader, I am well versed in all six AP English rubrics and how to apply them, as well as how to teach students to tailor their work to fit the strict requirements.
