About Yvonne
I love learning and love to help others with learning. Reading is one of my favorite subjects because it changes lives. Sometimes reading is difficult and I can share ways to help you to be a better reader. There are many activities to help improve those reading skills.

Trained in the Science of Reading, I emphasize explicit, systematic instruction in phonemic awareness and phonics to build strong, foundational decoding skills. I also focus on vocabulary and comprehension. I teach students to be active readers by asking questions before, during, and after reading. I create a safe, non-judgmental space, helping students build their confidence.
I have many years experience in the classroom, working with small groups, and tutoring in grades k-5.
