About Watson
Hello, I’m Watson! I am a certified English Language Arts and ESL educator with over seven years of professional teaching experience across high schools, adult education centers, and 1-on-1 tutoring platforms. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Secondary Education from Anderson University, graduating with a 3.6 GPA, and completed a formal teacher preparation program to ensure my instruction meets high pedagogical standards.
Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse learners—from high school students aiming for academic excellence to adult non-native speakers building English fluency. My passion lies in empowering students, fostering genuine confidence, and helping each learner master critical reading, writing, and analytical skills to reach their full potential.

My teaching approach is student-centered, supportive, and structured to meet learners where they are. I specialize in tutoring middle school, high school, college, and adult students in English Language Arts (ELA), Essay Writing, Reading Comprehension, Literature Analysis, and ESL.
A typical 60-minute lesson follows a clear, productive structure:
1. Goal Setting & Review: We begin by reviewing your current assignment, goals, or areas where you feel stuck.
2. Direct Concept Breakdown: I break down complex skills—such as constructing a thesis statement, analyzing literary themes, or mastering English grammar—into clear, digestible steps.
3. Guided Practice: We work through exercises together so you can apply new techniques with real-time guidance.
4. Actionable Feedback: We wrap up with practical strategies and action items you can immediately use in your coursework or daily communication.
What sets me apart is over 7 years of professional teaching experience across secondary classrooms, adult education programs, and 1-on-1 online instruction. I focus on building authentic confidence alongside academic success, adapting my methods to match your personal learning style.
