About Lola
I am a passionate flute tutor with 7 years of teaching experience, having guided over 150 students to achieve their musical goals. I teach students of all levels, from beginners discovering the joy of music to advanced learners refining their performance skills. My teaching philosophy is rooted in creating a positive and encouraging environment, where students feel confident to explore and express themselves through music.
I focus on building a strong technical foundation, including breath control, finger agility, and tone production, while also nurturing creativity, improvisation, and musical interpretation. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s unique learning style, ensuring steady progress and a deep understanding of the flute.
Beyond individual technique, I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, and ensemble practice to give students a holistic learning experience. My ultimate goal is to help students not only play the flute with skill but also develop a lifelong love for music, confidence in performance, and a sense of artistic expression that extends beyond the classroom.

I design my flute lessons to be student-centred, flexible, and enjoyable, adapting to each learner’s preferred style. Understanding how a student learns best allows me to provide techniques and exercises that maximise progress while keeping motivation high. I focus on flexibility, modifying lesson structures, repertoire, and practice strategies to align with each student’s goals.
Collaboration and interaction are key components of my teaching. I encourage students to engage in ensemble play, duets, and group activities, fostering teamwork, listening skills, and musical expression. A positive environment is central to my lessons, where encouragement, patience, and constructive feedback help students overcome challenges confidently.
Alongside flute, I offer instruction in related subjects such as music theory, sight-reading, and improvisation. By blending technical training with creativity and collaboration, my teaching methodology nurtures well-rounded musicianship and instils a lifelong love for music.
